The poor grapes have had a tough year.  Then in the last few weeks it got super hot, accelerating the harvest time even more.

More rain drops on another Hydrangea. Thank god for the rain. It has been soooooooooo dry here! Good gentle and soaking rain for two days. The weather is supposed to be mid 80's this weekend. Who knows WHAT the weather will be like when you all get here!

8/23/10 Shollenberger Sunset

It was so warm tonight I went over to Shollenberger Park after dinner and caught this pretty sunset.

An added attraction the Wild Flour Bakery in Freestone is the Wildflower Gardens they also have,  where you are free to roam about.   They had huge sunflowers, over 10 ft tall.

This house used to look horrible, but someone fixed it up and now it is beautiful, especially the gardens.

This is the best candy store in Petaluma, they have all the old fashioned candies as well as modern treats like these Jelly Bellies

8/16/10 Naked Ladies

These "naked ladies" are blooming all over town now.  A lot of people use them along the fence.  When we bought the office building the garden had a zillion of these bulbs, which I dug out to plant roses instead. They were almost impossible to get rid of.
